Flawless GSTR-9 Annual Return Filing Services
Close your financial year without the fear of department notices. We meticulously reconcile your GSTR-1, 3B, and 2A/2B to file a perfect, error-free Annual GST Return.
Critical: GSTR-9 Cannot Be Revised!
Unlike other returns, once GSTR-9 is filed, it is locked permanently. Any error—whether a typo in sales figures or incorrectly claimed ITC—cannot be edited. This locks in your tax liability and guarantees a notice from the GST department. Professional preparation is absolutely mandatory.
Our Comprehensive GSTR-9 Filing Process
GSTR-9 is not just a copy-paste of your monthly returns. It is a deep audit of your entire year’s GST activity. Here is how EasyBiz360 protects your business.
GSTR-1 vs GSTR-3B Match
We match the sales you declared in your GSTR-1 against the tax you actually paid in your GSTR-3B. We identify and rectify short payments or excess payments.
ITC Reconciliation (2A/2B)
We perform a rigorous reconciliation of the ITC claimed in your GSTR-3B against the auto-populated GSTR-2A/2B to ensure no ineligible credit was claimed.
Spillover Adjustments
Did you report a March invoice in April of the next financial year? We accurately map these “spillover” transactions into the correct tables of GSTR-9.
Books vs Portal Audit
We cross-verify your GST portal data with your internal accounting software (Tally, Zoho, etc.) to ensure your audited financials align perfectly with GST records.
DRC-03 Payments
If our reconciliation uncovers any short payment of tax or wrongly claimed ITC, we help you pay it voluntarily via Form DRC-03 to avoid hefty penalties later.
GSTR-9C Preparation
For businesses crossing the ₹5 Crore turnover threshold, we prepare the GSTR-9C Reconciliation Statement, certified by our expert Chartered Accountants.
Applicability, Deadlines & Late Fees
Missing the Annual Return deadline is one of the most expensive compliance mistakes a business can make.
-
Filing Deadline: The due date for filing GSTR-9 is the 31st of December of the year following the relevant Financial Year.
-
Who Must File GSTR-9: Mandatory for regular taxpayers whose Annual Aggregate Turnover exceeds ₹2 Crores. (Optional but recommended for turnover up to ₹2 Cr).
-
Who Must File GSTR-9C: Taxpayers whose Annual Aggregate Turnover exceeds ₹5 Crores must file the GSTR-9C self-certified reconciliation statement along with GSTR-9.
-
Massive Late Fees: A penalty of ₹200 per day (₹100 CGST + ₹100 SGST) applies for late filing, subject to a maximum cap of 0.25% of your turnover in the State/UT.
Why GSTR-9 is Your Biggest Tax Shield
Think of GSTR-9 as your final opportunity to clean up a year’s worth of GST mistakes. During the year, businesses often make errors—claiming ITC twice, missing a sales invoice, or putting export sales in the B2B column. GSTR-9 is where you declare these corrections to the government.
When a GST officer opens your file for scrutiny or audit, GSTR-9 is the very first document they look at. If your GSTR-9 data does not match your GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, or Audited Financial Statements, you will receive an automatic ASMT-10 scrutiny notice.
The EasyBiz360 Advantage
At EasyBiz360, we do not treat GSTR-9 as a simple data-entry task. Our CAs pull your entire year’s JSON files from the GST portal, run them through advanced reconciliation tools, and sit with you to resolve every single mismatch before we generate the final return.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common queries regarding the GST Annual Return.
What is the difference between GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C?
GSTR-9 is the Annual Return summarizing all GST transactions for the year (mandatory if turnover > ₹2 Cr). GSTR-9C is a reconciliation statement that bridges the gap between your audited financial statements (Books) and your GSTR-9 (mandatory if turnover > ₹5 Cr).
Can I claim missed Input Tax Credit (ITC) via GSTR-9?
No. GSTR-9 is a summary return. You cannot claim fresh Input Tax Credit through GSTR-9. Any missed ITC must be claimed in the GSTR-3B filed up to the 30th of November of the following financial year.
Do I have to file a Nil GSTR-9?
If your turnover is above ₹2 Crores but you had absolutely no transactions during the year, you must still file a Nil GSTR-9. If your turnover is below ₹2 Crores, filing GSTR-9 is currently optional.
I am a Composition Scheme dealer. Do I file GSTR-9?
No, Composition Scheme taxpayers do not file GSTR-9. Instead, they are required to file the Annual Return in Form GSTR-9A.
Can I pay my pending tax liability through GSTR-9?
Yes. If, while preparing GSTR-9, you discover that you paid less tax during the year, you can pay the remaining liability along with applicable interest using Form DRC-03. However, this payment must be made in cash, not via the ITC ledger.
